Westnet announces new partnership with AUX Group

Westnet, a member of the Olympia Group and a leading distributor of IT and high-tech products in Greece and Cyprus, is expanding its product portfolio with AUX home air conditioning (AC) products, in partnership with the AUX Group.

Westnet: Sales boost and significant profitability increase in 2019

Growth of consolidated turnover: €110.7 million (+ 9% y.o.y.)

Significant EBITDA boost: €3.2 million (+ 34% y.o.y.)

Spectacular earnings before tax increase: €1.3 million (+ 60% y.o.y.)

Westnet, a member of the Olympia Group of companies, presented positive economic performance and strong growth in turnover in 2019. Successfully continuing the implementation of its strategic plan, the company has played a lead role also in 2019 in the distribution of technology products and services in Greece and Cyprus.

Specifically, Westnet, recorded for the 2019 fiscal year a significantly strengthened consolidated turnover of €110.7 million, marking an increase of 9% compared to 2018. Further, it also recorded a solid increase of 34% in operating profitability (EBITDA), which reached the level of € 3.2 million compared to €2.4 million in 2018. There was also a significant increase in earnings before tax of Westnet for 2019, which amounted to €1.3 million, increased by 60% on an annual basis, from €834 thousand in 2018.

The positive financial results of Westnet for 2019 fully justify the strategic plan of the company which has established it as one of the largest distributors in the Greek market. The addition of new categories, as well as the further development of existing partnerships, have played a key role in the increase of sales. At the same time, it is worth noting the significant increase in sales abroad, which in 2019 represented 23% of total annual sales, compared to 12% last year. Finally, the company continued in 2019 to invest in its high expertise human resources by attracting new talented executives.

The company expresses cautious optimism for 2020, with a positive course attributed to the further maturity of strategic partnerships with key suppliers, as well as the development of new Voice over IP solutions, Security Solutions, Smartwatches categories, in which it was placed at the end of 2019. Specific and targeted growth is also expected for Toshiba battery products, with an emphasis on opening up in new markets abroad.

Commenting on the financial results of the year, Westnet’s General Manager, George Daviotis noted: “2019 has been a very successful year for the Westnet team. New Westnet-PFU agreement on the new professional scanners

The financial figures announced by Westnet, a member of Olympia Group, paint a successful year for 2018, completely affirming the strategic plan that the company is adhering to. More specifically, Westnet, which is active in the field of distribution of computer and high technology products, announced a turnover of €101.2 million for financial year 2018, which exhibited a significant rise of 11%compared to 2017 (€91 million). In addition, operating profitability (EBITDA) marked a significant rise of 18%, which reached €2.36 million, compared to €1.99 million in 2017. Finally, Westnet’s profit before tax for 2018 exhibited a spectacular rise, as this appeared to be up by 188% y.o.y, amounting to €784,000, up from €272,000 in 2017.

Westnet’s positive financial results for 2018, despite the difficult economic environment, confirm the company’s strategy in practice, which led to strengthening of Westnet’s exclusive partnerships with regard to new product categories, the development of a new client base and increased maturity in categories such as Notebooks, Smartphones, Gaming, and televisions.

As milestones for the past year, the significant growth in sales of Westnet’s subsidiary in the Cypriot market is notable, as well as the addition of new categories in the company’s diversified product portfolio and the inclusion of Toshiba consumer batteries. The additional investment in the company’s workforce was significant, both in terms of training as well as  attracting experienced executives for the new product categories in which Westnet entered to.

Partners Event in Cyprus with HP Inc. and HPE – Aruba

Westnet, a member of the Olympia Group of Companies, organized its first partner meeting in Cyprus. At the event, which took place on Wednesday, March 6th at the Hilton Cyprus Hotel, innovative products and solutions were presented from HP Inc. and HPE – Aruba, which Westnet represents both in Cyprus and Greece.

The event was attended by more than 100 executives, representing more than 80 companies operating in Cyprus.
